It is important to understand that the ultimate purpose of this organization is to make the world a better place. It is not to exist for its own sake. There is no clergy or professional class of Baha’is that are making a career out of elected Baha’i service. All administrators are volunteers, chosen by their respective communities in silent elections where no campaigning, speeches, or political parties are allowed.

Therefore, Baha’is turn to the Administrative Order for leadership of their Faith. Baha’is turn to scholars of their Faith for insight and wisdom. But in the end, they must account for their own lives. There is no earthly shepherd with responsibility for their souls. There is no human being that can take their place when they stand before their Lord in judgment. Baha’is alone must face their Creator for how they have lived on this earth.
